Having become a more-than-casual Mats fan only about a year ago, I was super excited for this. But it too often falls into the insular "I was there, and I knew from the first note of "Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out" that I was witnessing an earth-shattering event, and Paul Westerberg spit in my face and I have the kleenex I wiped it off with hermetically sealed in my storage unit," blah blah blah. Walsh is way too indulgent of this kind of prose, from himself and others.

And I would've liked a little more about them as people - not necessarily for shock value, but because I think it's worth examining in the context of band dynamics and makes for a much fuller portrait (a la Dee Dee Ramone in Please Kill Me.)
