I found RFD-TV almost seven years ago when Dish started it. I really like the polka and old country and western shows. It is the best thing we got since the old Nashville Network died. We now have Ralph Emery every week and Crook and Chase coming in January 2008. I have also watched Imus and was glad when he started promoting RFD-TV last year. He said it was the best thing on TV and my family agreed with him. All the shows mentioned in the earlier posts are great. I liked the Imus Ranch Special on Labor Day. Good Luck to Imus and RFD. I just got a Dish DVR-722 and plan to record what I can't watch so I will have something to watch when I can't find anything on my other 500 channels.

peterabbit

If human interest stories like the stuff Charles Osgood used to do are up your alley, tune in to RFD's "Texas Country Reporter." Always good, often great.

growler

The headline for this article is offensive. Only way to bait anyone to actually read this article. Nice...
You should actually watch the Imus show a couple of times. You segued into your main exposition with... "the hot polka action." Listen to yourself.

So right now it is 8:00 am and I have been watching RFD, since 7 am for the first time; only to find out what is currently airing,in what will be the new Imus time slot. It is apparent that since just before 6 am the most exciting thing to see has been somebody's grandmother displaying all the joys of creating multiple quilts at one time. Currently airing is apparently someone's (single angle camera) home video of a horseman teaching some half-way interested onlookers, possibly at a local fair? Very appealing stuff, huh.
Weak, weak, weak. Much like this article.

peeter

OMFG! I hate to resort to internet abbreviations, but Dan, my man, it's nice to know that I'm not the only person out there who watches RFD for the music. These shows are a best kept secret of incredible performances from pretty much the 'who's who' of classic country. Actually I can only watch it when I'm back in Baltimore visiting my parents since they don't have it here on cable...but nonetheless, I always make time. I have to say although I enjoy Pop goes the Country (the disco-influenced tune by Johnny Paycheck, Friend, Lover, Wife is particularly awesome in my book) I really can't deny the sparkley-suit power of the Wilburn Brothers.

beta.rogan
