I know these mags are competitive, but using this as an example feels a bit forced, and to be honest I'm a little tired of reading about Wenner in this column, especially when he's brought up in entries about mags he doesn't own.
Also, I think RS is more competitive with Blender than Spin right now because they're casting a much wider net including pop and rap, whereas Spin (Beyonce cover aside) has retreated into the safe haven of alt-rock for its cover stories in recent years.

Actually, I guess (b) is my point, not his, but still -- there's an interesting dynamic at work when World Of Wenner is involved.
