I caught this entirely by accident and only half-watched it, but you know what... fuck y'all. Anyone who can survive the production values of Superbowl Half-time Show with even an ounce of cred is definitely worth cutting some slack. Screamy? I guess a little but I wouldn't want to try to compete with that mix no matter how strong my voice. And, even with that stupid production, she still belted out a couple of songs pretty damn well. I, for one, can't wait for her to fully become Linda Ronstadt. Or Joan Jett. Either's cool.

That said, I can't bring myself to watch the above clip. I know the splendid YouTube quality will not be kind to my quasi-rationalized defense of it.

My friends and I caught this and we were like, WTF???

"Why is Kelly Clarkson singing all of these 'classic songs'? And where is Carrie Underwood -- isn't this a COWBOYS game???"

Also, even though this is not Jezebel, maybe you could use a "fashion disasters" or "bad fashion choices" or something-similar tag. And such.
