Dave is NOT the voice of a generation--sorry, Dave, but that's going way over the line. Dave is not the only musician who has been involved in politics. Actually, right now, in 2008, John Hall, of Orleans, is a member of Congress. A former member of the Doobie Brothers is, of all things, a respected defense analyst in the private sector. A member of the Smithereens is involved in politics and has run for office. Bono has worked on legislation, lobbied, raised money and traveled the world for several causes. Peter Garrett, of Midnight Oil, is a member of the Australian Parliament. And Martha Reeves, the beloved woman who sang "Dancing in the Streets" is currently a Member of the Detroit City Council. And there are many more, including metal and hard rock musicians, nationwide. Dave, you're a great musician, but please get your facts straight.
