I thought Kristy Lee was better than decent...along with Joanne, Ramiele, and the brilliantly named Alexandréa Lushington.

Aish'a and Syesha seem like faux-belters to me...they come the closest to being the new J Hud, but aren't really that good. Also awful? Amanda. She's really a bad singer covering it up with schtick (decent schtick, but schtick nonetheless).

Overall, YAWN. Across the board better than the boys, but nobody stands out.

CapnCalamity

This might be the weakest Top 24 ever. I still can't tell any of them apart. I miss Leslie Hunt more than ever now.

Also, in relation to Amy Davis performance, did anyone notice the judges characterizing "Where the Boys Are" as a Patsy Cline song? Did Cline ever record it? Because I, and I think most people, associate it more with Connie Francis, and certainly not with country music.

Charles A. Hohman

i guess syesha has me thinking she has the pipes to do some nice things as the show progresses - but collectively i am unimpressed. and that includes the guys.

derby

I saw less than half of the episode, but the clip at the end of Alexandrea Lushington's performance was way better than any of the full songs I saw.
Simon's comment about all the "hype" surrounding Carly was interesting -- I don't know if he was just translating all the media controversy about her 'ringer' status into plain old buzz, or if it was a kind of sideways admission that AI's producers are grooming her as a favorite behind the scenes and possibly encouraging the judges to be kind to her.

Al Shipley

She really does stand out from the others, and that's not a result of her previous contract -- it's a reflection of why she had that contract in the first place.

Rob Murphy
