Britney apparently has signed on to deliver a few lines in a very minor role, but her guest stint has led Alicia Silverstone to pull out of a much larger and more important role that is part of a multi-ep story arc. The fansites have speculated that Alicia was to be set up as "the Mother", and that would have been a great step in a "comeback" effort for Alicia, as well as quite a memorable casting coup for the little sitcom that could.

I'm so bummed.
