I'm not surprised that the brothers have fallen on hard or at least, non fabulous times. After the hits stop rolling in and the money runs out, a lot of singers have gone to join the workforce.

If I remember Dave Marsh's Trapped correctly, they guilt-tripped in Michael into doing the Victory tour so they could make some money offa his starpower. THAT OBVIOUSLY WORKED SO WELL.

It's something of a wonder none of them have popped up on a reality TV show. (Apart from Michael, of course.)
