also in the freaky-travelling-long-ways-to-see-fave-band-live moments, I flew to Chapel Hill to see Tall Dwarfs' then only headlining show in 2005. An SF show much closer to me was announced after I got my tickets to the former show. No regrets! Local 506 = best peeps ever.

Yeah, when I first saw that commercial I got a bad jones to listen to "Songs of You and Me."

"No problem that the CD is in storage in a basement in Ohio," I thought to myself. "I'll just download it, legally or otherwise."

Which is when I discovered it can't be found digitally, legally or otherwise. Ah, the cruelties of modern life.

Yay on Chris -- but boo on whichever opening band for him in LA years ago played a miserable set that ran on too late and meant that after the other opener played (Refrigerator, they were great) and Chris finally got on stage I was near catatonic. Whoever that opening band was, they deserved to break up thousands of miles from home and have to shlep back via missed Greyhound connections.
