And yeah, this album is not "so good", and it's gonna get a lot of undeserved accolades, but in this case I'm not sure I have a problem with it, because I've listened to the thing a few times since it leaked, and it's generally just another beast entirely, one that can't be proven "good" or "bad" on beats, lyrics, or flow alone. Lil Wayne has a freaking bizarre take on all three, so it seems to be just baffling people more than anything right now.

It's so interesting to watch this upward trajectory of Lil Wayne. I swear to God, a year or two back Lil Wayne was just the go-to artist for my cousin and all his fellow high school graduate buddies to bump in their brand new "first" whips. Now he's operating on Kanye like levels of interest from the listening public. Is it thanks to all those mixtapes? The success of Lollipop? Or, or, his -GASP- talent?

Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I still couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the headline "Tha Carter III is so good y'all" over at Stereogum with little to know disagreement with that sentiment over in the comments section. So big ups Lil Wayne. Big ups.
