Lil Wayne’s ‘Rebirth’ Leaks—Thanks To Amazon

Without question, the face-palm moment of the year: after Lil Wayne and his record label spent months futzing with the release date of his rock-influenced Rebirth LP, the eagerly awaited album has leaked—because the (perhaps understandably) confused folks at Amazon mistakenly shipped copies of it to hundreds of fans who had pre-ordered their copies.

According to Billboard, the online retail giant goofed by shipping roughly 500 copies of the album to fans, who discovered it in their mailboxes starting yesterday. (The album’s official street date just moved—for the sixth time—to Feb. 1 from Dec. 21.) Who could have predicted that Rebirth‘s long and leaky journey (does anyone even remember “Prom Queen”?) would become so twisted that not even one of the nation’s biggest music sellers could keep track of it? We’re guessing this’ll have even Weezy at a loss for words.
