Passion Pit‘s “Sleepyhead” was one of our go-to songs of 2009, so we’re hoping for a repeat smash on the electro-pop group’s forthcoming album Gossamer (out July 24). On the LP’s lead single “Take A Walk”, the shiny synths are still present, but frontman Michael Angelakos gives up his falsetto while singing about money and family woes. “On Gossamer, there is more of a dichotomy between the lyrics and the music,” Angelakos says of the band’s LP in a press release. “You hear my lyrics more precisely which is something I was ready for. The lyrics on this album have a lot to say about what the last two years of my life have been troubled with.” Hey, at least he’s keeping it positive, singing, “I remind myself that times could be much worse.” Listen to “Take A Walk” below.
