Rihanna Will Design A Clothing Line For River Island

Rihanna and fashion go together like peanut butter and jelly, so here’s some of the least surprising news you’re likely to read today — the seafaring songstress is teaming up with Brit store River Island to create her own line. And while you might expect some sort of Emperor’s New Clothes situation happening when Ri Ri designs a clothing line, with people walking out of the store topless thinking they’re looking as mighty fine as the popstress herself, apparently the collaboration will involve actual apparel.

Given her penchant for all things London lately, this seems like a particularly good fit. “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family-run business also really appealed to me,” Rihanna said of the gig. “I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.””
