Nicki Minaj’s “Come On A Cone” Video: See Nicki Return To Her Roots
Who says you can’t be all things to all people? In the space of about 10 days, Nicki Minaj has been Justin Bieber‘s pool party playmate in “Beauty and a Beat,” the provocative partner to Cassie in their video for “The Boys,” and now she’s going back to her roots in the video for her “street single” from Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, “Come On A Cone.”
Watch the video up top, then head after the jump for more details.
The song, which sees a characteristically deranged Minaj spewing swag, contains a brilliant lyric about Vogue editrix Anna Wintour — “When I’m sitting with Anna, I’m really sitting with Anna / Ain’t a metaphor punchline, I’m really sitting with Anna.” Fittingly, the video does a tidy job of exploring that high/low lifestyle tension, intercutting footage of Minaj rapping on the street with her crew with shots of her sitting front-row with Kim Kardashian at a fashion show and performing in front of thousands of people.
But most importantly, the video also teases the re-release of Roman, which hits retailers November 19. Watch the clip above.
