Taylor Swift To Debut “I Knew You Were Trouble” Video On December 13

If you thought just because Taylor Swift has already sold 20 billion copies (approximate count) of her most recent album Red, she was slowing down her promotional efforts, think again: The pop-country superstar is gearing up for another big week of promo, this time for her next single “I Knew You Were Trouble,” a dubstep-inflected tune about the very un-Taylor-Swift-like experience of crying on the cold hard ground. (Just kidding! That’s a pretty common Swift trope.)

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the week will culminate with the big reveal of Swift’s “Trouble” video on Thursday, December 13 — which is also Swift’s 23rd birthday. And it’s her 23rd music video! Total serendipity.

That’s not all Swift will be getting up to next week, though: Today (Monday), new photos from the video shoot will premiere on MTV.com; on Tuesday, she’ll release footage explaining her concept for the video; Wednesday will feature a livestream and a trailer; and Thursday at 4:40p.m. ET, the video drops.

Directed by Anthony Mandler and starring Broadway star Reeve Carney, the video promises to be “dark” and a departure from her frequently light-and-lovely clips — and given the spectacular production values and choreography of her AMAs performance, “Trouble” will probably be gangbusters.
