Get well, Mother Monster: Lady Gaga has canceled the remaining 21 dates on her Born This Way Ball tour after suffering a tear in her right hip that will require surgery and rest.

The superstar first tweeted about the injury late Tuesday night, admitting that she’d been in pain but had been trying to push through: “I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal…I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t.” Initially, she tweeted that three shows would be postponed; now, it seems, the remainder of the tour will be canceled for the time being. Refunds will be offered to fans who have already purchased tickets.

Reportedly, the initial diagnosis was that Gaga was suffering from synovitis (or joint inflammation); yesterday, though, tests indicated that she had a labral tear in her right hip, which will mandate that she take time off from the heavy dancing and singing of her tour. She hasn’t tweeted since her first announcement Tuesday night.

Admittedly, if anyone can harness the power of their collective might to send good energy in the direction of her speedy recovery, it’s Gaga’s fanbase.
