Kelly Rowland Rumored For ‘The X Factor’ Season 3 Judging Spot

There’s a spot open at the judges’ table for the upcoming third season of The X Factor — what with Britney Spears departing to record legendary smashes for The Smurfs 2 soundtrack and drive around Calabasas in circles drinking Frappuccinos for days and days — and ahoy! Now there’s a new name being bandied about: Kelly Rowland, famed for her kisses down low and her impressive motivation (and also, for being a judge on the UK version of The X Factor, where she proved to have keen insights and, just as importantly, be really fun to watch).

British tabloids are reporting that Rowland is in the final stages of negotiations to join Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell for Season 3 of the show; reportedly, she’s asking for a $2.3 million salary to join their team, which sounds like pocket change (Beyonce‘s pocket change, to be precise) compared to the $15 million Spears received for the show — so hey! Superstar on a bargain. “Kelly knows The X Factor, she’s aware of what it takes to be a judge and she’s also outspoken,” a source said.

Then again, given the glacial pace of these X Factor castings, don’t be surprised if it takes a minute for Rowland to get to, um, “Work.”
