Did you know designer Tommy Hilfiger has a rapper son who goes by the name Ricky Hil? We think maybe we knew, but we might have just been thinking of Tom Hanks‘ rapper son who goes by the name Chet Haze. The point is, Ricky Hil exists, and somehow he got reclusive Canadian creep-wave crooner The Weeknd to appear in his music video for “Nomads.”

As with several of Abel Tesfaye‘s guest spots, the singer is given the biggest chunk of mic time and totally steals the spotlight from the primary artist. As for Ricky Hil, he doesn’t exactly rap here, nor does he really sing. It’s more of a strained, cigarette-addled whisper bringing to mind Magda from There’s Something About Mary. When it’s all combined with the seedy video, though, it comes together surprisingly well! Check it out up top.

“Nomads” is off Ricky’s SYLDD.
