M.I.A.‘s new song “Only 1 U” has arrived with instructions, via Twitter: “keep away from LAP TOPS play in #REALSPEAKERS #LOUD. in direct sun light or in a dingy room.” But whether “Only 1 U” blares through laptops or stereos, her anthem to self-worth rings loud and clear.

To skittering loops, of bells and her own imitations of their ringing, M.I.A. measures up each listener to the riches here on earth: “There’s trillions of cash, and there’s billions of us / and there’s millions of things that can happen with the stock / and there’s thousands that will crash and there’s hundreds that will smash / But there’s only one you, and I’mma drink to that.”

M.I.A. uploaded the track to YouTube after London’s NTS Radio debuted it on June 28. “Only 1 U” arrives just one week after M.I.A. debuted her new “Bring the Noize” video, as if to signal that her new album Matangi may finally arrive soon. Hear the new song after the jump.
