Andre 3000 hopes to release a solo album in early 2014 — according to BET’s president of music programming. Backstage at D.C.’s Verizon Center, during Lil Wayne‘s America’s Most Wanted Festival Tour, Stephen G. Hill ran into him and asked about Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side, starring Dre himself. “yeah … and I got a solo album coming top of the year,” he said, according to Hill.

To an extent, fans already saw this coming; Atlanta producer Mike WiLL Made It posted a brief video of him and Andre hanging out in the studio, while OutKast partner-in-crime Big Boi warned his Twitter followers to watch out for solo cuts. However, according to Billboard associate editor Erika Ramirez, a rep says there’s “no official confirmation” that a solo album will come out as Andre 3000 had said.
