Justin Timberlake Joins Juicy J On “The Woods”: Hear The Vintage Timbaland Production

Juicy J appeared on Justin Timberlake‘s Futuresex/Lovesounds deep cut “Chop Me Up” as part of Three 6 Mafia, and now JT is returning the favor, appearing on Juicy’s Stay Trippy track “The Woods.” Timbaland is on hand behind the boards, as he was for that 2006 cut, and the result is a throwback to that icy R&B sound of the aughts. It’s got Timbaland’s trademark lean, jittery beats and click-clacky beatboxing, the type of stuff the producer got away from on The 20/20 Experience.

Juicy dedicates the track to his “trippy chick,” while JT croons, “I love you at your weirdest” and sings about taking a walk in the woods with his girl. Basically, it sounds like hip-hop’s ode to the Manic Pixie Dream Girl, and we’re totally digging it.

Stay Trippy drops August 27, and in addition to JT it features cameos from pretty much the entire music industry: 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky…you get the picture.
