Drake Premieres “Too Much” On ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’: Watch

Drake premiered a new song September 14 at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, in which he presents a variation of a theme. As usual, he raps of fame and a woman he left behind to chase it, but as if he’s sobered up from the woozy couch session of Take Care‘s “Marvin’s Room.” So while keyboards and looping hiccups of Sampha‘s voice add a sense of longing, Drake raps forcefully enough to show that he understands the consequences.

Toronto, man — Drake must put on for his city, even if that requires sacrifice.

“Too Much” is off Drake’s third album Nothing Was the Same (out September 24). To back the album title, host Jimmy Fallon showed his studio audience a photo, in which Drake drinks a shot from his Grammy for Best Rap Album.
